Ginan Rauf
"What does it mean to know a place? To really know a place? My practice as a photographer starts with the notion that the world is a strange and wondrous place and that my camera is a tool for exploring its shareable beauty from a variety of different angles." - Ginan Rauf
It is a practice inextricably intertwined with walking and traveling in a local neighborhood or foreign country. There is an constant urge to capture the unfamiliar beauty of familiar objects or places as the light falls upon a flower, a body of water, an urban landscape or a smiling face.

Ultimately, it is an urge driven by biophilia, a love of life and living systems that binds us to the earth.
